CIMB Group Announces Leadership Transition In Singapore

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- CIMB Group Holdings Bhd has announced its group chief executive officer, Novan Amirudin, will oversee as Acting CEO of Growth Markets in CIMB Singapore following the resignation of Victor Lee Meng Teck.

“Lee has resigned as CEO of Growth Markets and CEO of CIMB Singapore to pursue other opportunities and will be on gardening leave with immediate effect,” the banking group said in a statement.

It also announced that CIMB Singapore's chief financial officer, Andrew Boey, will assume the role of Officer-in-Charge of the bank, taking on day-to-day leadership responsibilities to ensure continued progress and stability.

Novan said Lee has been instrumental in transforming and institutionalising CIMB Singapore for continued sustainable success, “driven by CIMB Group’s EPICC culture.”

“As we look to the future, we are confident in the strength and depth of our bench strength, comprised of experienced and highly capable leaders, well prepared to carry forward our strategic priorities under our Forward30 plan.

“The group extends its sincere appreciation to Victor for his contributions and wishes him continued success in his future endeavours,” he said.

The group has also activated its succession plan and will be announcing the successors in due course.

According to the bank, Lee started his career with CIMB Group in January 2019, when he was appointed CEO of Group Commercial and Transaction Banking, before taking over as CEO of CIMB Singapore in January 2020.
