Petronas Showcases Malaysia’s Energy Leadership At Expo 2025 Osaka

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s participation at Expo 2025 Osaka will spotlight the nation’s energy transition agenda, with Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) playing a pivotal role in projecting the country’s economic and industrial leadership on the global stage.

Since its establishment in 1974, Petronas has been more than an energy company, serving as a cornerstone of Malaysia’s industrialisation, a partner in education and skills development, and a driver of global competitiveness.

Today, as the nation advances towards its net-zero 2050 target, the company continues to balance energy security with sustainability, reinforcing its status as one of the country’s most important government-linked companies (GLCs).

In a statement today, Petronas said that Expo 2025 Osaka provides the global stage on which these commitments are shared with the world.

“The Malaysia Pavilion is where our country engages international stakeholders, strengthens ties with Japanese partners, and projects its leadership as the ASEAN Chair in 2025.

“Timed with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) and Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) Week, Petronas’ involvement underscores how national policy priorities and international platforms align to showcase Malaysia’s leadership in energy transition and sustainability,” it said.

Guided by its purpose, ‘A progressive energy and solutions partner enriching lives for a sustainable future’, Petronas said it continues to drive Malaysia’s growth while advancing the global energy transition.

The national oil company highlighted that its role reflects not only national pride but also a long-term commitment to balancing security, sustainability, and innovation for the future.

“As the country’s energy champion, Petronas carries dual responsibility into every platform it supports.

“Currently, this includes its partnership with the Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, taking place from April 13 to Oct 16, 2025.

“Through this ongoing collaboration, Petronas is sustaining Malaysia’s growth at home, amplifying its narrative abroad, and reinforcing the country’s role in the global energy transition,” it added.
