Golpo Secures US$4.1 Mln Seed Funding To Advance AI-Powered Video Platform
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Golpo, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered platform that converts documents and prompts into interactive explainer videos, has raised US$4.1 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round led by BNVT Capital, alongside Emergence Capital, Y Combinator, Afore Capital and others. (US$1=RM4.21)
The funding round, which drew strong investor interest, was led by BNVT Capital—a firm spun out from the Gates Foundation and Hedosophia—with the company reportedly turning away additional capital due to high demand.
Golpo was founded by brothers Shraman Kar and Shreyas Kar, who dropped out of their computer science degrees at Stanford to realise their vision of making AI video communication practical, scalable, and accessible to everyone.
“Veo and Sora can generate cinematic spectacle, but they cannot even spell words correctly, let alone support technical or instructional content,” said Shreyas Kar in a statement.
Meanwhile, BNVT Capital Managing Partner, Chris Corbishley said Golpo’s frame-by-frame editing capability represents a major breakthrough in AI video technology, transforming generation from an unpredictable one-shot process into a controllable and efficient workflow.
The company’s model delivers 45 times lower costs than conventional AI video tools while maintaining technical accuracy suitable for education, training and corporate use.
Its clients include schools, learning and development departments, and marketing teams seeking to turn documents and presentations into engaging explainer videos.
Proceeds from the seed round will be used to expand Golpo’s team, enhance its AI capabilities, and strengthen integration with enterprise customers.
