PM Anwar To Highlight Importance Of Inclusivity, Digital Economy And AI At APEC

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will emphasise the importance of inclusivity in strengthening supply chains, as well as digital and sustainable economic development, during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) in Gyeongju, South Korea.

He will also highlight the country’s policies on digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI).

The Prime Minister's senior press secretary, Tunku Nashrul Tunku Abaidah, said in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Daily Briefing that Anwar's visit to South Korea this Thursday will also include meetings with key industry players to discuss business and investment opportunities.

The visit will also focus on further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

"May the continuous efforts of APEC further strengthen Malaysia's position as a principled, progressive nation committed to fighting for justice, prosperity, and regional peace for the future of the country," said Tunku Nashrul.

According to the Malaysian Ambassador to South Korea, Datuk Mohd Zamruni Khalid, Anwar will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, as well as senior government officials.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to deliver Malaysia's intervention during the APEC Economic Leaders' Dialogue with guests on Oct 31 (Friday) and the APEC Economic Leaders' Retreat on Nov 1.
