Allianz Malaysia Strengthens Northern Footprint With Relocation Of Penang Branch

GEORGE TOWN, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Allianz Malaysia Bhd is strengthening the company’s footprint in the northern region with the opening of a new Penang branch here today.

Housed in a heritage building, the new branch combines cultural significance with modern facilities, featuring a spacious 9,000-square-foot double-storey bungalow lot with three dedicated training rooms.

Located along the prestigious Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah in George Town, the new branch is a strategic relocation from its previous premises on China Street.

Allianz Malaysia chief executive officer Sean Wang said the new facility joins the company’s existing branch in Bukit Mertajam, boosting its presence in the state.

He noted that the new branch underscores Allianz Malaysia’s commitment to growth and accessibility in the northern region, where it currently serves more than 800,000 customers.

Wang said the company aspires to transform how it interacts with its agents and customers, and expressed hope that when customers walk in, they will experience a new way of doing business with Allianz Malaysia.

“Our business is getting bigger, so we need to find a suitable location to scale up our operation.

“This strategic location aligns perfectly with our ‘beyond central expansion’ initiative, allowing us to better serve the growing needs of the local community,” he told reporters.

Wang officiated the new branch together with Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer Charles Ong.

He added that the new branch will strengthen Allianz Malaysia’s network across the northern region, including Bukit Mertajam, Alor Setar and Sungai Petani in Kedah, serving approximately one million customers in total.

By investing in the new heritage building, he pointed out that Allianz Malaysia are not only creating a more accessible and spacious environment for customers and agents but also honouring Penang's rich cultural history.

The new branch offers significant enhancements, designed with best-in-class customer experience at the forefront, and its central location on Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah provides improved accessibility and ample parking.

The expanded floor space allows for more service counters, reducing wait times, while comfortable consultation areas ensure privacy for discussing insurance needs.

This expansion is part of Allianz Malaysia’s broader network of 30 One Allianz branches strategically located across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak since commencing operations in the country in 2002.

The new Penang branch is located at No 17A, Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, George Town.

The Allianz Group is one of the world's leading insurers and asset managers serving private and corporate customers in nearly 70 countries.

Allianz customers benefit from a broad range of personal and corporate insurance services, including property, life and health insurance, assistance services, credit insurance, and global business insurance.
