Ambiq Launches Apollo510 Lite SoC Series To Advance Ultra-Low-Power Edge AI

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 (Bernama) -- Ambiq Micro Inc (Ambiq), a global provider of ultra-low-power semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, has introduced the Apollo510 Lite System-on-Chip (SoC) series, the latest addition to its Apollo5 family.

Designed to meet the growing demand for always-on intelligence at the edge, the new series combines advanced AI processing, multi-protocol wireless connectivity and industry-leading energy efficiency to power devices such as wearables, medical equipment, industrial Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and smart building systems.

In a statement, Ambiq said samples of the Apollo510 Lite Series are now available, with volume production expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

Ambiq chief executive officer, Fumihide Esaka said the Apollo510 Lite Series represents a significant milestone in the company’s mission to expand the reach of Edge AI through ultra-low-power technologies.

“This milestone underscores our commitment to making intelligence possible everywhere, without compromise on power or performance,” he said.

Built on Ambiq’s proprietary Subthreshold Power Optimised Technology (SPOT) platform, the Apollo510 Lite Series offers over 16 times faster performance and up to 30 times better AI energy efficiency compared with conventional M4 or M33 solutions. The improvement allows developers to run complex AI workloads such as health analytics, sensor fusion and voice recognition while extending battery life.

Key features of the series include a 250 megahertz (MHz) Arm Cortex-M55 Processor with turboSPOT and Helium technology for efficient AI acceleration, a dedicated 48/96 MHz Arm Cortex-M4F Coprocessor, and two megabytes (MB) of both RAM and non-volatile memory with dedicated caches.

The devices also feature Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.4 with +14 decibel-milliwatts (dBm) transmit power, dual-mode Bluetooth (Classic + LE) for low-power audio, and secureSPOT 3.0 with Arm TrustZone for secure boot and firmware authentication.

The Apollo510 Lite Series will be available in three variants, namely Apollo510 Lite (no BLE radio), Apollo510B Lite (BLE-enabled), and Apollo510D Lite (dual-mode Bluetooth).
