Ramssol Enters Indonesia EV Market Through Bike Leasing Partnership
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Bernama) -- Ramssol Group Bhd’s indirect subsidiary, PT Rider Gate Indonesia, has signed a cooperation agreement with PT Smoot Motor Indonesia and PT Swap Energi Indonesia to launch an integrated electric vehicle (EV) bike leasing ecosystem in Indonesia.
In a statement, Ramssol said the three-year agreement marks its official entry into Indonesia’s rapidly expanding electric mobility market.
“Under the agreement, Rider Gate Indonesia will deploy 500 electric motorcycles by the end of financial year 2025, with plans to scale up the fleet progressively throughout the contract period in line with growing adoption and rider-partner demand,” it said.
Ramssol said the partnership brings together three key players in the EV ecosystem.
It said the partners aim to create a fully integrated EV leasing model, combining financing, vehicle supply, and convenient battery-swapping services.
“PT Smoot, a wholesale distributor of electric two-wheelers under the ‘Smoot Elektrik’ brand, will supply the motorcycles, while PT Swap, a pioneer in battery-swap infrastructure and two-wheel EV battery assembly, will provide and maintain the battery-swap components and network.
“Rider Gate Indonesia will purchase the units from PT Smoot and lease them to rider-partners via a flexible, technology-driven model designed for affordability and operational efficiency,” it added.
