InterSystems Launches HealthShare AI Assistant To Streamline Clinical Workflows

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- InterSystems, a creative data technology provider powering more than one billion health records worldwide, has launched the InterSystems HealthShare AI Assistant, a generative artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to help healthcare professionals access and interpret patient information more efficiently.

Built on the InterSystems HealthShare Unified Care Record (UCR), the AI Assistant features a conversational interface that allows clinicians, case managers and administrators to securely query and summarise complex health records using natural language prompts.

InterSystems head of global healthcare solutions, Don Woodlock said the company aimed to provide healthcare professionals with a faster and safer way to retrieve information directly within existing workflows, reducing cognitive burden and improving efficiency.

Meanwhile, Healthix chief executive officer, Todd Rogow said the AI Assistant enables clinicians to instantly generate validated summaries from years of records, offering a complete view of a patient’s medical history at the point of care.

The system consolidates information from thousands of clinical data sources and applies generative AI to deliver relevant insights in familiar, standardised formats, enabling faster access to patient data and critical findings, according to a statement.

Among its key features are a conversational chat interface for clinical questions, pre-built and custom prompts for tailored use, source traceability for transparency, and seamless integration within the HealthShare Clinical Viewer. The platform also incorporates role-based access controls and full audit tracking to ensure responsible AI use.

A study with Healthix, one of the largest public health information exchanges in the United States, found that the tool improved clinician workflow, reduced record review time, and provided actionable insights.

HealthShare AI Assistant is now available to HealthShare users in supported regions as part of the broader InterSystems HealthShare suite, which supports data interoperability across more than 80 countries.
