Horizon Quantum Unveils First In-House Quantum Computer

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- Horizon Quantum Computing Pte Ltd (Horizon Quantum), a pioneer of software infrastructure for quantum applications, announced the completion and commissioning of its first in-house quantum computer, assembled and operated at its Singapore headquarters.

The fully functional system makes Horizon Quantum the first quantum software company to own and run its own quantum computer, marking a significant step in its hardware–software integration strategy.

With direct control of the complete stack, Horizon Quantum expects the testbed to bridge the gap between theoretical quantum models and practical execution, strengthening the capabilities of its Triple Alpha development environment.

In a statement, its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Joe Fitzsimons said the testbed places the company in a strong position to build a tightly integrated execution stack capable of unlocking future quantum advantage.

The system integrates best-in-class components, combining Maybell’s cryogenic platform, Quantum Machines’ control electronics, and a Rigetti superconducting processor. It is the first installation within a facility designed to host multiple quantum systems.

A modular architecture allows Horizon Quantum to swap processors and electronics, enabling software validation across diverse hardware configurations and supporting its mission to remain hardware-agnostic.

The new system is expected to be accessible through Horizon Quantum’s Triple Alpha platform.
