N. Sembilan Actively Developing New Industrial Areas To Drive Quality Investment - Exco
SEREMBAN, Dec 10 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan government is capable of attracting quality, high-impact investments, particularly in the electrical and electronics, semiconductor, aerospace, food technology and pharmaceutical sectors - all of which align with the targeted clusters under the Central Region industrial development plan.
State Industrial and Non-Muslim Affairs Committee chairman Teo Kok Seong, during the winding-up session, said that, to realise the state’s aspiration of becoming a major investment hub, the state government, together with the private sector, is actively developing new industrial zones.
“The initiative aims to draw more potential investors, particularly to the Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV 2.0) development region, covering Seremban and Port Dickson. To date, a total of 3,477.5 hectares of new industrial land has been identified and is currently being developed.
Teo (PH-Bahau) said the projects under development include SPD Tech Valley, Eco Business Park 7, NS Semiconductor Valley and NS Smart Park.
He added that the strategy is further supported by the state's open, investor-friendly policies, including the Negeri Sembilan Fast Lane initiative, which facilitates and accelerates investment approvals.
Meanwhile, state Heritage, Technology, Innovation and Digital Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli said that internet coverage in populated areas across Negeri Sembilan had reached 99.93 per cent, as of Oct 31.
He said that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), together with telecommunications providers, is continuing to implement various initiatives, under the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA), to further expand broadband access and enhance internet speeds across the state.
Mohd Faizal (BN-Linggi) added that MCMC had received 3,477 communications-related complaints, including five involving open manhole covers, for which immediate closure and repair works were carried out. He added that efforts to expand 5G coverage to rural areas are also progressing in phases.
“In addition, the operation of the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI), established in every state constituency, provides free internet access, computers, digital training and skills development programmes, to help bridge the digital divide,” he said.
In the meantime, state Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Nicole Tan said the Visit Negeri Sembilan Year 2026 campaign is not merely a paper agenda, but one designed to deliver tangible benefits to the people.
“It is expected to create more job opportunities, particularly in the entrepreneurship, hospitality, food and beverage, and creative industry sectors. This, in turn, will stimulate the local economy, raise community income and improve road accessibility,” she said.
Meanwhile, Youth and Sports Development Committee chairman Datuk Mustapha Nagoor said that RM5 million has been allocated in preparation for the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA), including efforts to strengthen the state training centre and increase athlete participation in the tournament.
The sitting continues tomorrow.
