Akmal Nasrullah Pledges To Strengthen Malaysia’s Economic Position

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Economy will explore every possible effort and option to ensure that Malaysia’s economy remains in the best possible position, despite facing challenging circumstances.

Newly appointed Minister of Economy, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, said global economic growth is expected to be slower at least until 2027.

“This is due to geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainty, and global trade volatility, which continue to pose major challenges to economic growth. These concerns will guide my focus in determining the priorities that need to be addressed,” he said in a Facebook post.

Akmal Nasrullah was sworn in today before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, at Istana Negara here, following the MADANI government cabinet reshuffle.
