Scientex Among Top Gainers In Early Trade Following Positive 1Q Earnings

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Scientex Bhd was among the top gainers in early trade today following positive earnings results in the first quarter ended Oct 31, 2025 (1Q FY2026).

At 9.58 am, the company’s shares increased 10 sen to RM3.52 with 419,500 shares changing hands.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the group’s net profit increased by 11.1 per cent to RM142.91 million in FY1Q 2026 against RM128.61 million in the same period last year, driven by higher revenue in packaging and property segments.

Revenue for the quarter under review rose by 4.1 per cent to RM1.16 billion from RM1.11 billion a year ago.

RHB Investment Bank Bhd in a research note said the counter is on a solid footing to record a stronger year in FY2026, underpinned by steady property demand and cost optimisation from its packaging segment.

“Although the group believes the demand for the packaging segment will recover slowly, it is maintaining a cautious outlook amid subdued market sentiment and intense competition,” the investment bank said.

It is maintaining a “neutral” call with a target price of RM3.60 per share.
