Gold Futures End Firmer In Early 2026 Trade, Tracking US COMEX Gains

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended firmer in early 2026 trade, tracking stronger gains on the US COMEX.

The new spot-month January 2026 contract rose to US$4,401.8 per troy ounce from US$4,348.2 previously. February 2026 gained to US$4,417.3 from US$4,363.7, while March 2026 advanced to US$4,433.9 from US$4,380.4.

The April, June and August 2026 contracts also edged higher, settling at US$4,451.9 per troy ounce compared with US$4,398.4 previously.

Trading volume rose to 104 lots from 56 lots on Wednesday, while open interest increased to 151 contracts from 90.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,367.8 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association afternoon fix on Dec 30, 2025.

Bursa Malaysia Bhd and its subsidiaries were closed on Thursday for the New Year’s Day holiday.
