Strategic Direction, Reforms Strengthen Confidence In National Policies - Amir Hamzah

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 5 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's announcement on strategic direction and institutional reforms further strengthens the confidence of industry players, the public, and investors in national policies, said Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

He said the Prime Minister’s announcement today aligns with the MADANI Economy framework, particularly in sustainably enhancing the country's revenue to remain competitive amid global economic uncertainty.

It also focuses on strengthening governance through legislation, providing more efficient public service delivery, such as the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalisation to streamline processes and reduce bureaucracy.

“Next is improving the status of the people through better social protection networks such as the Sumbangan Tunai Ramah (STR) cash contribution, Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA), and Early Schooling Aid.

“This also includes inclusive economic empowerment for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector and the bumiputera community,” he told Bernama and RTM today.

He was commenting on Anwar’s 2026 New Year message at the Prime Minister's Department monthly assembly today.

Amir Hamzah said this new direction can be achieved due to political stability and a ‘whole of nation’ approach, namely, close cooperation between the federal and state governments, the people, industry players, civil servants, and all stakeholders.
