BS Freshmart Targets RM1.25 Bln Revenue This Year

KUALA SELANGOR, Jan 28 (Bernama) -- Syarikat Pasaraya BSK Sdn Bhd (BS Freshmart), which has 26 branches nationwide, is targeting to boost its revenue to about RM1.25 billion this year.

BS Freshmart managing director Mohammad Rasul Razuan said the target is supported by strong public response to the brand, which recorded revenue of RM1 billion last year.

He said the company is expanding its operations by investing more than RM30 million to open five new outlets this year, including one in Puncak Alam today.

The other branches will be in Bukit Setongkol and Batu 6 Jalan Gambang in Kuantan, as well as Wakaf Bharu and Pasir Mas in Kelantan.

“We are investing RM6.9 million in the branch in Puncak Alam.

“This expansion makes it easier for the public to obtain quality goods, including food, fresh produce, and fish directly from our own fishing jetty,” he said after the official opening of the new supermarket by Meru state assemblyman Mariam Abdul Rashid today.

Mohammad Rasul said government assistance programmes such as Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and the monthly Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) aid have also contributed to the seven per cent increase in the supermarket chain’s sales.

“Through these programmes as well, many local products have entered our supermarkets, increasing their estimated in-store proportion up to 30 per cent. So these are good programmes that not only help the people, but also indirectly increase the income of local entrepreneurs,” he said.

BS Freshmart’s current branches are spread across several states, including Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan.
