KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 (Bernama) -- BateriHub has been officially listed in the ASEAN Records for the achievement of being the “First and Largest Direct-Owned Car Battery Retailer by Branch Count and Floor Area” following its expansion to 200 branches nationwide.

The ASEAN Records listing recognises BateriHub’s direct-owned retail network comprising 200 branches with a total floor area of 340,875.68 square feet.

The recognition was presented in conjunction with the BateriHub annual dinner and ASEAN Records Recognition event today, attended by BateriHub founders Kok Wai Kit and Wong Wai Loong along with its general manager Stanly Ng, as well as ASEAN Records managing director Gilian Ooi.

Ng said the ASEAN Records listing validates how the company has been built, not only in terms of scale but also structure and execution.

“It affirms that our direct-owned model, operational systems and team setup are scalable and sustainable at a national level,” he told Bernama.

Ng said BateriHub’s strong growth was driven by three main factors, including its 100 per cent direct-owned business model, continued investment in people and systems, and a data-driven expansion strategy.

“Our direct-owned model gives us full control over service quality, pricing and brand standards across every branch, which is critical when customers require urgent assistance,” he said.

He added that the company has prioritised training and operational consistency to ensure the same customer-first mindset across all locations, including secondary cities, while relying on operational data to guide sustainable expansion.

Ng also said the recognition reflects the collective effort of BateriHub’s workforce and consistent service delivery across its nationwide network, as well as the trust Malaysians place in the brand built through reliable daily service.

In 2025, BateriHub achieved several milestones, including doubling its branch network from 100 to 200 outlets within a year, after taking 13 years to establish its first 100 branches.

The company also recorded a 40.11 per cent sales growth compared to 2024. Its workforce expanded by 117 per cent to 467 employees while bonuses increased by 14 per cent year-on-year and average salary increments ranging between three and five per cent.

Looking ahead, Ng said BateriHub plans to expand to East Malaysia in the third quarter of this year following extensive market studies and site visits.

On regional expansion, he said ASEAN expansion, including a potential entry into Singapore, remains part of the company’s five-year strategic roadmap, although no firm timeline has been finalised.

BateriHub targets to reach 300 branches by the end of 2026 and plans to roll out a mobile application, introduce a more advanced point-of-sale system, relocate to a new warehouse facility, and establish a new marketing and customer service office.

Founded in 2011, BateriHub is Malaysia’s largest direct-owned car battery retailer, having served more than one million customers nationwide and operating across over 500 service areas in 11 states.
