MRANTI Park Drives Innovation Linking Research And Industry

KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI) is advancing a mission-driven approach that connects research, technology development and industry deployment through MRANTI Park.

The research commercialisation agency said the 686-acre park in Bukit Jalil serves as a living innovation platform, where technologies can be developed, tested and scaled in collaboration with industry partners.

"MRANTI Park already hosts more than 150 technology companies and institutions and a growing community of over 30,000 knowledge workers, supported by facilities such as drone testing zones, autonomous vehicle lanes and a 5G-enabled technology hub," it said in a statement.

MRANTI said these capabilities enable new technologies to move beyond the laboratory and be tested in real-world environments, bridging the gap between research and commercial adoption.

MRANTI chief executive officer Ashran Ghazi said Malaysia has strong research capabilities and growing innovation talent, and what is needed now are platforms where research, industry and capital can converge to solve real problems and create economic value.

"MRANTI Park is designed to be that platform, a place where technologies are developed, tested and scaled alongside industry partners," he said.

The agency said it aims to evolve MRANTI Park into a mission-driven innovation district, where companies, researchers, investors and startups work in proximity to accelerate the development and commercialisation of new technologies.

MRANTI has also convened more than 400 industry leaders, investors, developers and ecosystem partners for a session focused on accelerating innovation and commercialisation in Malaysia by uniting industry, researchers and investors to tackle national challenges through Mission Driven Initiatives.

During the engagement, MRANTI outlined upcoming opportunities for industry collaboration through a Request for Proposal programme that will unlock the next phase of the park’s development.

"Opportunities will include innovation campuses, applied research facilities, artificial intelligence and digital technology clusters, as well as pilot zones and innovation commons that support technology testing and collaboration," it said.

MRANTI welcomes partners who share a long-term vision of building a vibrant innovation ecosystem in Malaysia and encourages interested organisations to participate in the RFP process, including briefings and site visits to explore collaboration in the next phase of MRANTI Park’s development.
