Gold Futures End Lower

KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower today, in line with the United States COMEX gold market.

At the close, the spot-month April 2026 contract eased to US$4,755.00 per troy ounce from US$4,821.70 per troy ounce, and the May 2026 contract slid to US$4,772.40 per troy ounce from US$4,841.30 per troy ounce at Wednesday’s close. 

The June, July, and August 2026 contracts also finished lower at US$4,790.90 per troy ounce, down from US$4,859.80 per troy ounce yesterday.

Trading volume decreased to 13 lots from 32 lots yesterday, while open interest shrank to 72 contracts from 81 contracts previously.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,792.55 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association afternoon fix on April 8, 2026.
