Agrobank AUM Programme Drives RM6.5 Mln Sales Growth In Kelantan

KOTA BHARU, April 18 (Bernama) -- Agrobank’s Upward Migration (AUM) programme continues to empower local entrepreneurs, with participants from Kelantan recording sales exceeding RM6 million, reflecting the encouraging business expansion driven by the bank's guidance and continuous support.

Agrobank president and group chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin said the programme currently mentors 55 entrepreneurs, with 30 having completed the course and 25 still in training.

"Of these, 21 companies reported higher revenue than the previous year, with cumulative sales reaching RM36.57 million for participants who completed the programme in 2025.

"The increase represents a rise of RM6.51 million or 22 per cent, reflecting positive growth driven by structured mentoring and continuous support," he told reporters after the Agrobank Excellence Appreciation Ceremony here today.

The event also honoured five companies for their achievements in Sales Increase, Business Expansion, Job Creation, Capacity Building (Technology), and Capacity Building (Financing).

Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah added that seven companies also successfully obtained additional financing totalling RM1.425 million to strengthen their financial positions and enhance operations.

He highlighted a success story involving a former military personnel who has operated MDYM Agro Farm since 2017 and significantly expanded operations in 2020.

"The entrepreneur now owns four pens that can accommodate 200 to 300 goats at a time, including premium breeds such as Boer, Kalahari, Jamnapari, and Savannah," he said.

In addition to livestock farming, the entrepreneur has expanded into the food and beverage sector with goat-based catering services and plans to open a halal slaughterhouse in collaboration with Agrobank, he said.

Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah noted that the entrepreneur’s success was further recognised when he received the Agropreneur Award (AAA) in 2023, serving as an inspiration to others in the programme.

"The AUM programme plays a vital role in helping local entrepreneurs increase production capacity and drive innovation," he added.
