Malaysia, Türkiye Stengthen Education Partnership, Explore Potential Of Halal Sector

KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 (Bernama) --  Malaysia and Türkiye are committed to strengthening cooperation in education development, including expanding access and improving the quality of education through collaborations between institutions in both countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the matter was discussed when he accepted a courtesy call from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Universiti Ibn Haldun Necmeddin Bilal Erdogan and Türkiye Higher Education Council president Prof Dr Erol Özvar with their delegation at his office in Putrajaya today.

“Today’s discussion centred on the education field, specifically MARA’s (Majlis Amanah Rakyat) role in expanding education access and quality including potential cooperation between educational institutes of both countries.

“Malaysia and Türkiye’s ties in the education sector are on track with various forms of partnerships between institutions in both countries, encompassing academic exchange, research and joint development programmes,” he posted on Facebook today.

Ahmad Zahid said the meeting also touched on potential partnerships in the halal sector that is seen as being able to open more opportunities for both countries.

“I hope that the meeting can strengthen bilateral ties between Malaysia and Türkiye, and provide benefits to education development, the economy and the well-being of citizens in both countries, insya-Allah,” he added.
