KLCI Futures Close Mostly Lower Amid Steady Cash Market

KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed mostly lower in contrast with the steady performance of the cash market.

The April 2026 contract erased one point to 1,719.0, May 2026 fell 1.5 points to 1,719.5, June 2026 increased 16 points to 1,718.5, and the September 2026 contract eased 2.5 points to 1,701.0.

Turnover slipped to 11,310 lots from 25,545 lots on Wednesday, while open interest narrowed to 43,924 contracts from 63,112 contracts yesterday.

At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI increased 1.60 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 1,722.02 from Wednesday’s close of 1,720.42.

Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries will be closed tomorrow (May 1), in conjunction with the Labour Day public holiday.

The stock exchange and its subsidiaries will resume operations on Monday (May 4).
