Gold Futures Close Higher On US COMEX Strength

KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, following the strong performance of gold futures on COMEX in the United States.

At the close, the spot-month April 2026 contract rose to US$4,625.80 per troy ounce from US$4,576.50 on Wednesday, while the May 2026 contract added to US$4,659.50 per troy ounce from US$4,600.40.

The June, July, and August 2026 contracts also settled higher at US$4,670.20 per troy ounce compared with US$4,612.40 previously. 

Trading volume expanded to 28 lots from 12 lots on Wednesday, while open interest increased to 97 contracts from 74 contracts yesterday.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,564.90 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association afternoon fix on April 28, 2026.
