Bank Rakyat Offers EV Financing At Fixed 1.88 Pct Rate

KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Bernama) -- Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) is offering an exclusive financing package for the purchase of new battery electric vehicles (BEV), hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and other hybrid vehicles, including mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV).

In a statement today, Bank Rakyat said the package offers a fixed profit rate as low as 1.88 per cent a year, which it described as among the most competitive and lowest rates currently available in the market.

The bank said the strategic initiative forms part of its continued commitment to helping Malaysians cope with the impact of an increasingly challenging economic environment, including uncertainties in energy supply, while supporting the national sustainability agenda, promoting green mobility adoption and expanding public access to sustainable transportation.

“The special financing package is specifically designed to ease Malaysians’ transition to environmentally friendly vehicles with a lighter financial commitment,” it said.

The offer is open to all Malaysian citizens, including public and private sector employees, as well as self-employed individuals.
