IHH Healthcare’s 1Q Net Profit Rises To RM528 Mln
KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 (Bernama) -- IHH Healthcare Bhd posted a net profit of RM528 million for the first quarter (1Q) ended March 31, 2026, up 2.7 per cent from RM514 million in the same quarter last year.
Revenue rose to RM6.55 billion from RM6.29 billion previously, attributed to its hospital and healthcare segment.
“Hospital and healthcare’s 1Q 2026 revenue increased by three per cent to RM6.24 billion, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased eight per cent to RM1.39 billion.
“The revenue growth was driven by a sustained demand for quality healthcare services, a case-mix of more acute patients and price adjustments to counter inflation,” the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
The healthcare provider said the consolidation of Bayindir Healthcare, which was acquired in July 2025, also contributed to the increase in revenue.
IHH Healthcare noted that Malaysia hospital 1Q 2026 inpatient admissions decreased three per cent to 60,277, while revenue per inpatient admission improved 12 per cent to RM13,446.
It added that India hospital 1Q 2026 inpatient admissions grew 14 per cent to 89,211, while revenue per inpatient admission rose five per cent to RM8,966.
“Turkiye and Europe hospital 1Q 2026 inpatient admissions increased 13 per cent to 75,553, while revenue per inpatient admission increased 28 per cent to RM14,764 with price adjustments, especially in Turkiye, to counter hyperinflation,” it said.
On prospects, IHH Healthcare said the group remains susceptible to foreign exchange fluctuations across its operating markets relative to the Malaysian ringgit.
A strengthening ringgit may moderate the group’s reported growth and margins in ringgit terms.
“Notwithstanding the ongoing global economic and geopolitical headwinds, IHH Healthcare is confident in the strength of its fundamentals and the resilience of its underlying operations to deliver sustainable long-term value,” it added.
