viaim Expands AI Wearables Push Through Transsion Partnership
KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 (Bernama) -- Artificial intelligence (AI) hardware company, viaim announced it is partnering with smartphone maker Transsion Holdings to develop a new generation of AI-powered wearable devices, following the completion of an A+ funding round worth 100 million Chinese yuan. (100 Chinese yuan = RM58.66)
The partnership will focus on proactive AI assistant hardware capable of autonomous perception, decision-making and execution, the companies said in a statement.
The move comes as companies increasingly explore wearable devices as platforms for AI-driven services and real-time digital assistance.
viaim highlighted OpenNote, its open-ear wearable device designed for sports and daily use, as a key product in its AI hardware strategy. The device includes AI-powered real-time translation supporting more than 78 languages and 145 dialects, alongside extended battery life and sound management features.
The company said its products follow a “5+X” strategy centred on design, comfort, sound quality, noise cancellation and battery performance, combined with AI large-model capabilities.
Transsion, which has a strong presence in Africa and other emerging markets, will contribute manufacturing resources, distribution channels and local market expertise to support wider commercialisation.
viaim said it currently serves more than 1.5 million registered users across over 50 industries and 200 countries as it expands beyond transcription hardware into AI agent applications.
