Capcom To Release Monster Hunter Wilds Expansion In 2027
KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 (Bernama) -- Capcom Co Ltd announced its plan to release Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, a massive expansion (paid content) for Monster Hunter Wilds, in 2027 as it continues to expand its flagship Monster Hunter franchise.
In a statement, the company said the expansion will continue the main game's storyline and introduce new content, including additional quest ranks, locales, monsters and gameplay features such as expanded weapon actions.
Capcom also said it is developing Monster Hunter Wilds for the Nintendo Switch 2 in addition to the title's existing platforms, with further details to be announced in future updates.
The Monster Hunter series has expanded its global user base through worldwide releases and ongoing content updates. As of March 31, 2026, cumulative sales of the franchise exceeded 127 million units worldwide.
Released in 2018, Monster Hunter: World has sold well over 30 million units globally, making it Capcom's best-selling title to date.
Capcom said it remains focused on leveraging its game development capabilities to deliver new gameplay experiences and meet player expectations.
