Titanbay Names Marcel Rohner Non-Executive Director

KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- Titanbay has appointed Marcel Rohner, vicechairman of Union Bancaire Privée (UBP), chairman of the Swiss Bankers Association and former group chief executive of UBS, as a non-executive director on its group board.

Rohner brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience in European banking and wealth management, having previously led UBS as group chief executive officer (CEO) during the global financial crisis from 2007 to 2009.

He has served on the board of UBP since 2016 and has chaired the Swiss Bankers Association since 2021, where he oversees policy and standards for Switzerland’s banking sector.

In a statement, Titanbay Co-CEO, Michael Gruener said Rohner’s appointment marked a significant endorsement of the company’s direction, citing his experience at UBS, UBP and the Swiss Bankers Association as uniquely relevant to the evolving wealth landscape.

Meanwhile, Rohner said private markets are becoming a core allocation for European wealth clients, but that industry infrastructure has not kept pace.

He added that Titanbay’s technology-led approach is purpose-built for the asset class and already used by leading wealth and asset managers.

His appointment comes as Titanbay seeks to strengthen its position in private markets infrastructure, a segment increasingly central to European wealth management as investors expand allocations to alternative assets.

Titanbay operates a technology platform designed to connect wealth managers and asset managers, streamlining access to private market funds through integrated operational infrastructure.
