WCT Secures RM529 Mln UAE Construction Sub-contract
KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- WCT Holdings Bhd has secured a sub-contract worth 479 million United Arab Emirates dirham (AED) or RM528.99 million for the construction of a commercial and residential development in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the group that provides management services to its subsidiaries and joint venture companies said its indirect wholly owned subsidiary WCT International Sdn Bhd, together with UAE-based Construction General Contracting House Ltd (CGCH), accepted the sub-contract letter of award today through a 50:50 unincorporated joint venture.
The sub-contract involves the construction and completion of the Yas Living main works package, comprising three 12-level commercial and residential buildings with two basement levels, for project owner and developer Aldar Development LLC - OPC.
WCT said the scope of works covers all non-foundational structural works, architectural works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing works, as well as external works, while foundation-related works, including piling and excavation, will be carried out by other parties.
Following the award, WCT International and CGCH would establish a 50:50 incorporated joint venture company to execute the formal sub-contract.
The works are expected to commence in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed within 972 days from the commencement date.
