Number Of Flood Victims In Perak, Pahang Increases

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- As of 4 pm today, the number of flood victims in Perak and Pahang surged, while Kedah and Melaka saw a decrease.

The National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) portal reported that in PERAK, the number of flood victims taking shelter in 12 relief centres increased to 1,407 from 1,286 this morning.

According to the Public Info Banjir website, the water levels at Sungai Bidor in Hilir Perak, Sungai Rui in Hulu Perak and Sungai Perak in central Perak have breached the alert level.

In PAHANG, 1,803 evacuees are housed at nine relief centres compared to 1,643 this morning.

The number of evacuees at seven relief centres in KEDAH dropped slightly from 848 to 839 people from the Pendang and Kota Setar districts.

Public Infor Banjir website reported that the water level at Sungai Anak Bukit in Kota Setar had surpassed the danger level.

Meanwhile, in MELAKA, evacuees decreased to 12 people from 31 this morning.
