SINGAPORE, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- CyberSecurity Malaysia CEO Datuk Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab has been honoured by the ASEAN Japan Cybersecurity Community Alliance (AJCCA) for his commitment and contributions to promoting cybersecurity in Malaysia.

He is one of the nine Country Champion winners who received the inaugural AJCCA Cyber Resilience Awards (ACRA) at a ceremony held at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre on Thursday.

The award was presented by AJCCA founding chairman, Dr Rudi Lamanto.

Amirudin said the award is a recognition of the work done by CyberSecurity Malaysia.

“I am honoured to be the first recipient of the AJCCA Cyber Resilience Award - Country Champion from Malaysia today.

“This reflects recognition not only for me but also for the roles and contributions of CyberSecurity Malaysia to the nation, the ASEAN region, and the Asia-Pacific’s digital and cybersecurity ecosystem,” he told Bernama.

Amirudin added that the award highlights the importance of collaboration among cybersecurity players, both at the domestic and international levels, particularly within ASEAN countries.

AJCCA stated that ACRA is a prestigious event dedicated to celebrating and recognising individuals with outstanding contributions to cybersecurity and cyber resilience across Asia, with a special focus on Japan and ASEAN countries.

“As digital transformation accelerates, the need for robust cybersecurity measures becomes increasingly critical. These awards honour individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to enhancing cyber resilience, ensuring the security and stability of our digital landscape,” said Lamanto in a statement.

The AJCCA is a collaborative initiative formed by nine leading cybersecurity communities from ASEAN nations and Japan.

It is dedicated to enhancing cybersecurity capabilities, promoting information sharing, and fostering mutual support among its member nations to address the evolving challenges of the digital landscape.
