Focus Today Is On Tabling Of 2025 Budget

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 18  (Bernama) -- The 2025 budget that will be tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Parliament today will be closely watched by people across the country.

It will be the third budget tabled by the MADANI government since Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister,  helmed the country’s administration on Nov 24, 2022.

Anwar, dressed in a grey baju Melayu complete with “sampin” and carrying a bag containing the Budget speech, left his office at the Finance  Ministry at 3.15 pm to go to Parliament.

Asked if Budget 2025 would bring good news to the M40 group, Anwar just raised his thumbs and smiled.

With him were Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying and Treasury Secretary-General Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican.

The songket was produced by a local designer, Adiguru Rasiah Yusoff,  from Kampung Tikat Penambang, Kelantan, while the bag was designed by Chew Kai Hung from Penang.

Earlier, before starting the journey to Parliament, the Islamic Affairs Officer at the Ministry of Finance,   Mohamad Zukrillah Ismail, led the recitation of prayers.
