10 Startups Shine At SAP 2024, Poised For Global Growth Through SIDEC's Initiative
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- The top 10 winners of the Selangor Accelerator Programme (SAP 2024) have joined the ranks of over 190 startups that have participated in the programme since its launch in 2018.
SAP is the flagship initiative of the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC).
“With 41 per cent of past participants securing funding and many gaining international exposure through partnerships and study tours, SAP 2024 is poised to continue its legacy of launching high-potential startups into the global market,” SIDEC said in a statement, released in conjunction with the Final Demo Day, held during the Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) 2024 yesterday.
The top 10 winners of SAP 2024, each receiving prizes such as mentorship, investor exposure, and access to international expansion opportunities, include Alphaswift, Baituljannah, Shieldbase, Vcred, and Homesifu under Vertical 1: Artificial Intelligence Focused on Business Solutions, Mobility, Robotics, and Related Areas.
For Vertical 2: Biotech, Healthcare, Agritech, Net Zero, and Life Sciences, the winners are Green Advantex, Qarbotech, Atoz, Zoala, and Vidanex.
SIDEC said over the past three to four months, the 20 finalists of SAP 2024 have undergone intensive training through a structured programme that included comprehensive workshops, fundraising support, industry visits, and opportunities for international outreach and expansion.
“The Final Demo Day marks the culmination of their journey, showcasing their groundbreaking solutions to a panel of industry experts, venture capitalists, and leaders from the technology ecosystem,” it said.
The SAP 2024, now in its seventh edition, continues to be a cornerstone of Selangor’s strategy to drive innovation and economic growth.
This year’s cohort of startups has presented revolutionary solutions to real-world challenges, from leveraging AI for healthcare to developing sustainable materials that support net-zero emissions goals. Their innovations hold the potential to transform industries and improve the quality of life both locally and globally.
SIDEC chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping said the SAP has once again proven to be an incredible platform for discovering, nurturing, and growing local talent and startups, especially in line with current demands moving towards AI and bio-based solutions.
“We are thrilled to witness the success of these startups and their contributions toward Selangor’s vision of becoming a global hub for technology and innovation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Selangor state executive councillor for trade, investment and mobility Ng Sze Han said the Selangor government remains steadfast in supporting innovators and entrepreneurs.
“Through initiatives like SAP, we are building a strong foundation for the digital economy, fostering collaboration between startups, investors, and global leaders to ensure that Selangor remains at the forefront of technological advancement,” he added.
The SAP 2024 Final Demo Day was one of the highlight events at SDEC 2024, an annual convention that brings together global thought leaders, industry experts, and innovators to discuss the future of digital transformation.
