KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- The 22nd Deepavali Carnival 2024 (DC24), organised by Agenda Suria Communications Sdn Bhd, is expected to attract over 400,000 visitors after having already welcomed over 150,000 attendees by its fifth day.

Agenda Suria Communications founder and chief executive officer Jaggarao Simancha said the event continues to gain popularity with each year and is now recognised as a focal point for Malaysian-Indian celebrations.

“With more than 240 vendors occupying almost 430 booths, we’re offering even more variety than last year’s 400 booths with 210 vendors,” he told Bernama, adding that the carnival has become a major platform for launching new fashion collections, including sarees, kurtis, and Punjabi suits.

He also expressed optimism about surpassing the target of 400,000 visitors this year, citing the unique attractions and overwhelming response so far.

“We’re proud to see such enthusiasm, as it reflects the community’s support and the carnival’s role in promoting local culture and businesses,” he said, adding that this year’s edition offers daily prize giveaways to visitors as a gesture of gratitude for their support over the past two decades.

Visitors just need to scan a QR code to enter daily prize draws, with grand prizes including a motorcycle, a washing machine and a refrigerator.

The carnival, held at Open Car Park B, National Sports Complex Bukit Jalil here is open from 12 pm to 10 pm, from Oct 22 to 30.
