BOHEX Expected To Attract 100,000 Visitors

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 31 (Bernama) -- The Borneo International Halal Exhibition (BOHEX), set to be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from Dec 21 to 25, is expected to attract around 100,000 visitors.

Eminent Source Sdn Bhd managing director Mohd Arieef Hafizi Mohd Hashim said 500 exhibition booths will be provided, and BOHEX has already gained international interest from participants from Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, China, Thailand, Japan and Saudi Arabia.

He said BOHEX will be organised by the company in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).

“We are not only focusing on halal food products; we also have clothing, logistics and many more. Our offerings reflect the concept of halal, which encompasses a very broad meaning.

“We have also engaged with agencies like FAMA (Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority) to establish partnerships that will, among other things, support SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) participating in BOHEX this year,” he told a press conference here today.

He said throughout BOHEX, free bus transportation will be provided from six locations around Kota Kinabalu to SICC, including at the Suria Sabah shopping complex, IMAGO, 1Borneo, ITTC as well as Kota Kinabalu International Airport and the Pan Borneo Hotel.
