KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP), will organise a franchise trade mission to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This mission is set to introduce Malaysian franchise brands to the growing Middle East market.

MFA chairman Datuk Radzali Hassan said the programme will take place from Nov 5-9, 2024, in conjunction with the BIBAN24 Exhibition Programme at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Centre.

He said several leading Malaysian franchise companies in various sectors, including food and beverage, education, and services, will participate in this programme.

"The Saudi Arabian market has great potential for Malaysian franchise companies. Its government is carrying out economic reforms via Vision 2030, and the franchise sector is seen as one of the main drivers of the country's economic growth.

“We believe Malaysian brands are able to contribute to this goal while increasing their presence in the international market,” he said in a statement today.

Radzali said that during this mission, Malaysian franchise companies will participate in business matching sessions, round table discussions, and franchise exhibitions.

The trade mission will be led by Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick and involves government agencies, namely Perbadanan Nasional Bhd, SME Corp, SME Bank, the Malaysian Cooperative Commission, and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation,

The mission aims to open up new opportunities for Malaysian franchise companies to export their brands to the Saudi Arabian market.

MFA also urged more Malaysian franchise companies to take a step forward to penetrate the global market, thus making Malaysia a franchise hub at the international level.
