KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- A total of 100 asnaf entrepreneurs in the Federal Territorries, were chosen for the Digital Premises Development programme, implemented by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) in collaboration with Mynic Berhad, an agency under the Digital Ministry.
The initiative is part of MAIWP’s efforts to empower asnaf entrepreneurs with digital technology skills and equip them with the ability to utilise digital marketing strategies for business expansion.
The closing ceremony of the programme was officiated by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar here today.
Also present were MAIWP chairman Syed Kamarulzaman Syed Kabeer and MAIWP acting chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Nizam Yahya.
In his speech, Mohd Na’im said that the digitalisation initiative for MAIWP asnaf entrepreneurs involved the allocation of RM472,800 in zakat funds.
He said that, besides training, the asnaf entrepreneurs were given continuous guidance, monitored regularly, and provided with additional entrepreneurial training.
“The world is rapidly evolving with advancements in technology and innovation. Therefore, one of MAIWP’s initiatives is to ensure that its entrepreneurs can fully utilise the available facilities, including the newly developed digital premises.
“This will not only enhance the effectiveness of business operations but also help our entrepreneurs expand their businesses both locally and internationally,” he said.
In a statement, MAIWP said that the asnaf entrepreneurs who participated in the programme received training in digital branding, the effective use of e-commerce, and the application of the latest digital marketing techniques.
“In today’s programme, 10 outstanding asnaf entrepreneurs who successfully developed their business websites were presented with consolation prizes,” it said.
