SHAH ALAM, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The Selangor government has identified the main alignment, spanning 211 kilometres (km) from Sabak Bernam to Negeri Sembilan, for the implementation of the Kita Selangor Rail project.
Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the alignment was identified through an ongoing feasibility study, which was expected to conclude in January next year.
“Through this ongoing study, the state government has identified areas involved in the main alignment from Sabak Bernam, passing through Sepang to Negeri Sembilan, covering a distance of 211 km.
“It will also be supported by spur lines, including connections to Westport, Klang, Putra Heights and Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) in Bestari Jaya,” he said when tabling the Selangor Budget 2025 at the Selangor State Assembly here today.
Amirudin said the construction of the Kita Selangor Rail alignment was expected to have a significant positive impact on the state’s physical and socio-economic aspects.
“In terms of the economic aspect, this project is expected to stimulate economic growth along the alignment’s corridor and benefit Selangor both in the long term and short term,” he said.
Themed “Selangor Dinamik: Cita Sempurna Malaysia MADANI” (Dynamic Selangor: Perfect Aspirations of MADANI Malaysia), the 2025 Selangor Budget allocates a total of RM3 billion to carry out operating expenses and continue the development of the state next year.
