KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- Three Malaysian companies participating under the Malaysia Pavilion at the Cosmoprof Asia 2024 have generated total sales of RM27.33 million during the event.

In a statement, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) attributed this success to the strong global demand for innovative and high-quality Malaysian beauty products.

“MATRADE is thrilled with the success of the Malaysia Pavilion at Cosmoprof Asia 2024. We will continue to facilitate their access to leading trade events and provide targeted market access support,” said its chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz.

Cosmoprof Asia 2024, held in Hong Kong from Nov 13 to 15, with the Malaysian Pavilion showcasing the vibrancy and innovation of the Malaysian beauty industry to a global audience, including natural and organic beauty solutions, halal-certified skincare options, and other cutting-edge cosmetics.

MATRADE also highlighted Hong Kong’s strategic importance for Malaysian beauty brands.

As Malaysia’s 11th largest trading partner for perfumery and cosmetics products in 2023, with a trade surplus exceeding RM94 million, the market holds immense potential for further growth, it noted.

"Hong Kong provides an ideal platform for Malaysian brands to test consumer preferences and gain  valuable market insights.

“By participating in Cosmoprof Asia 2024, these companies can leverage Hong Kong’s strategic location as a stepping stone for further expansion into the vast Chinese market and the broader East Asian region,” it added.
