KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), in collaboration with the Melaka government, will host the Blue Serenade Charity Dinner Live With PDRM Orchestra at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) on Dec 28.

Held in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024, the event will feature performances by prominent local artistes such as Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Ziana Zain, Ella, and Jo Branko, accompanied by 75 musicians from the PDRM Orchestra.

Bukit Aman Director of Management, Datuk Seri Azmi Abu Kassim, said the event was organised to raise funds for the police welfare fund while forging closer ties between PDRM and the public.

“The funds raised from this event will be used, among other things, to repair and upgrade the musical instruments of the PDRM band.

“Additionally, the funds will be allocated for the welfare of PDRM personnel, particularly those affected by the recent floods, where their homes have been damaged,” he told a press conference at Bukit Aman today.

Azmi said that, in addition to the performances by the orchestra and artistes, the public is invited to attend the Community Policing Carnival in the morning, which would feature exhibition booths, traffic summons discount counters, and a meet-and-greet with the PDRM leadership.

The event is also expected to be attended by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
