KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil extended his condolences to the family of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) chief cameraman Jazarul Arif Jamaludin, who died early today.
In his Facebook post, Fahmi also described the passing of Jazarul as a huge loss to RTM, especially its Visual Unit.
“Jazarul was known by friends and colleagues as someone who was highly dedicated and committed to carrying out his duties and was greatly liked by all.
“As the chief cameraman, he led the team excellently. I extend my condolences to his entire family and pray that his soul is blessed with Allah's mercy.
“My condolences also go to RTM,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jazarul’s daughter Jazlira Syakira, 19, when contacted, said that her father breathed his last at 1.52 am at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre after having breathing difficulties since 11.30 pm Thursday.
“Prior to this, my father was complaining about his heart condition but refused to seek treatment,” she said.
According to Jazlira, the funeral prayer for her father was held at Masjid RTM Angkasapuri and the remains were laid to rest at the Muslim cemetery in Section 9, Kota Damansara.
Jazarul, 46, who had worked with RTM for 19 years, leaves behind a wife, Suridanila Abu Bakar and four children.
