KUIPs Upgraded To Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin

KANGAR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, today announced that Kolej Universiti Islam Perlis (KUIPs) has been officially upgraded to Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ).

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra, who serves as the Chancellor of KUIPs, stated that the Higher Education Department approved the institution’s registration as a university through a letter dated Nov 15.

"Alhamdulillah. Congratulations to everyone. This proud achievement is hoped to inspire the UniSIRAJ community to work harder to achieve the university’s mission and vision," he said during his speech at the 7th KUIPs convocation ceremony at Dewan 2020 today.

He emphasised the importance of prudent financial management, trustworthiness in carrying out responsibilities, and integrity in all actions as essential principles for the university community.

The Raja Muda of Perlis expressed his aspiration for UniSIRAJ to evolve into a competitive, self-sustaining institution that commands respect and admiration as a prestigious university.

"To the graduates, congratulations—you are now UniSIRAJ alumni. Let us join hands, collaborate, and intensify our efforts to elevate the university’s excellence to the highest level, both nationally and internationally," he said.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra also conveyed his gratitude to the Ministry of Higher Education, the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council, the university’s Board of Directors, management, lecturers, and staff for their contributions to this milestone.
