IPOH, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Over RM40,000 has been allocated for the ‘Sihat @Jom Mlaku 2024’ programme involving 300 residents of Kampung Rapat Jaya here today.
Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) chief executive officer Mohd Jamil Idris said this inaugural programme aims to engage the community and organise various activities that add value to both SPNB and the local residents.
“As an agency under the Housing and Local Government Ministry, SPNB has chosen this village to carry out the programme in support of the ‘One Leader, One Village’ (Santuni MADANI) initiative inspired by the Prime Minister.
“The main objective of this programme is to instil greater awareness among leaders about community needs and to serve as facilitators in addressing the socioeconomic challenges faced by the residents,” he said when met by Bernama here today.
Also present were Penghulu Besar Negeri Perak Dr Mohd Sani Kamarudin and Kampung Rapat Jaya’s Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) chairman Omar Ahmad.
The Santuni MADANI programme is a special initiative introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that has to be implemented by all heads of government departments and agencies.
Coordinated by the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department, the programme focuses on improving village potential and empowering residents through continuous interaction and monitoring.
Mohd Jamil said activities under the ‘Sihat @Jom Mlaku 2024’ programme included a 3-kilometre Fun Run, children’s colouring contest and health screenings.
He added that SPNB collaborated with the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, Health Ministry and the Perak Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp) to ensure the programme’s success.
Commenting on the residents’ feedback, he said the programme has to be organised regularly to ensure that it benefits all residents in the area.
“As for SPNB, we plan to organise this programme at least four times a year in this village. The activities will also be diversified to benefit residents of all age groups,” he added.
