SEPANG, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Eraman, Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd’s duty-free and retail brand, aims to have local brands occupy 10 per cent of its total retail and food and beverages space from the current six per cent at all airports where it operates.
Malaysia Airports (Niaga) general manager Md Fadzwin Abdul Rahim said Eraman’s objective is to support local brands where possible and also provide them with a platform to be visible to international customers.
“In total, Eraman has about 550 brands currently at airports where we operate. These brands range from international to local from all categories,” he told media after the official launch of the revamped Eraman Duty Free Mall located at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1, here today.
The launch was also held in conjunction with the opening of South East Asia’s first Charlotte Tilbury cosmetic store.
The duty-free mall occupies 29,600 square feet and features local brands such as Beryls, Sunshine Kingdom, Fidani, Danson, Choc O Time, Scentful and Malsa.
Md Fadzwin said Eraman is ready to support brands in expanding.
“When they are ready, we can support them. The advantage is that we have the space within our mall.
“However, the product development and marketing is for the brand to undertake as well as compliance with any regulatory requirements,” he said.
Meanwhile, Md Fadzwin said the revamped mall reflects Eraman’s commitment to excellence and innovation in travel retail, setting new standards for passenger experience.
“We are not just meeting but exceeding travellers’ expectations by offering an exclusive and elevated shopping experience right here in KLIA.
“This achievement underscores our ongoing mission to bring prestigious global brands closer to our travellers,” he said, adding that besides self-checkout kiosks that are available at most duty-free outlets, Eraman will soon launch RFID technology in its stores.
