KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- The All Star Influencers Award (ASIA), the second edition of which will take place next month and will bring together over 60 influencers from eight countries, is seen as a platform for content creators to hone their skills while promoting Malaysian tourism on social media.
ASIA chief executive officer Datuk Abd Rahman Soltan said during the three-day competition, influencers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand and South Korea will compete in 13 categories and create video content themed around Malaysian tourism.
"Participants, who are influencers with millions of followers, will take part in arts and cultural activities over three days in Melaka, in line with the Visit Melaka Year 2024.
"The video content produced in this competition highlights the beauty and diversity of Malaysia's culture and will be viewed by their followers and social media users. This platform is highly impactful and effective," he told a press conference yesterday.
Abd Rahman added that the competition also aims to emphasise the importance of producing meaningful, high-quality and intelligent content, shaping content creators to be more responsible in delivering positive messages to their audience.
"The influencers are selected based on their potential and creativity in creating content and their engagement on social media. We believe these young individuals have unique ideas and their own ways of capturing an audience, rather than just producing superficial or sensational content to gain attention," he said.
ASIA 2024 is scheduled to take place from Dec 3 to 7 and will include a gala night and award presentation ceremony.
A total of 13 categories will be contested and evaluated by a panel of judges. Among the categories are Best Storyteller Award, Best Mixed Language Award, Best Transition/ Editing Award and Best Influencer Award.
