Bernama Bags Two Awards At CIDB Construction Media Awards 2024

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) clinched two awards at the 2024 Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Construction Media Awards (AMP) here tonight.

Bernama Features Desk Assistant Editor Erda Khursyiah Basir won third place in the Print Media and News Portal (Feature) category for her article titled ‘Meningkatkan Keseimbangan Hidup dan Kerja Industri Pembinaan’ (Enhancing Work-Life Balance in the Construction Industry), earning RM2,000 in cash, a trophy, and a certificate.

Meanwhile, Bernama Data Journalism reporters Shaza Mhd Husam Eddin Al Muzayen and Abdul Rahman Fahmi Abdul Aziz received a merit award in the same category for their article ‘Demystifying the Issues Behind Malaysia's Overhang & Unsold Residential Properties’, taking home RM1,000 and a certificate.

The awards were presented by Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, who, in his speech, emphasised the media's role as a strategic partner in disseminating the ministry's initiatives to the public.

A total of 40 media practitioners were recognised at the event, with 191 submissions received across all categories since entries opened in April.

Held for the seventh time, the awards honour media professionals who have played a crucial role in raising awareness about government initiatives within the construction industry.

Six categories were contested: Print Media and News Portal (Special News Report), Print Media and News Portal (Feature), TV Broadcast Media and Online Videos (Special Reports and Documentaries), Radio Broadcasting, Photography, and Infographics.

Winners in each category received cash prizes of RM5,000 for first place, RM3,000 for second place, RM2,000 for third place, and RM1,000 for merit awards, along with trophies and certificates.
