MITRA To Open PPSMI Grant Applications From Dec 2

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- Applications for the 2025 Socioeconomic Development Grant Programme for the Malaysian Indian Community (PPSMI) will open from Dec 2 to Jan 5, 2025, said the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (MITRA) special task force committee chairman P. Prabakaran.

The Batu MP said the grant applications are opening early in December so that the programme can commence in January.

“Several improvements and new areas will be introduced from which the Indian community can benefit.

“We have projects aimed at increasing the equity of the Indian community, grants for entrepreneurs and small traders, as well as new areas such as agriculture and welfare, which we have never tried before,” he told Bernama and RTM after attending MITRA Deepavali Open House event today.

He urged the Indian community to apply through the MITRA portal.

In a statement on Oct 11, MITRA announced the postponement of the 2025 PPSMI applications to a later date to make necessary improvements following the engagement sessions it held with the stakeholders in six states.
