KUALA NERUS, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) midfielder Nurillo Tukhtasinov has officially extended his stay with the club until December next year.
Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) Chief Executive Officer Mohd Sabri Abas said the Uzbekistan-born player's current contract, set to expire in a month, has been renewed for another year.
He said that despite receiving offers from other clubs, the 1.72-metre-tall player opted to remain with the Turtles.
"Nurillo Tukhtasinov signed a contract extension yesterday, committing to the club until December 2025.
"TFC are thrilled and honoured to retain the services of such a dedicated and hardworking player," he said when contacted today.
Mohd Sabri added that Tukhtasinov's decision to stay would delight fans and reassure management, especially after the club recently lost two foreign players.
TFC had to release Dutch player Matthew Steenvorden and Marin Pilj, who ended their contracts early due to personal issues.
TFC now have five other import players, namely Ismaheel Akinade, Argzim Redzovic, Manuel Ott, Nelson Bonilla, and Nnabuike Chijiok.
