INDONESIA

Quick counts indicate that regional head candidates backed by the governing coalition are on course to dominate most key battleground provinces in the country’s first nationwide simultaneous regional elections, solidifying support for President Prabowo Subianto to execute his programs over the next five years. 

 

2. DEDI MULYADI POISED FOR DOMINANT WIN IN WEST JAVA GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION -- JAKARTA GLOBE

Prominent activist and politician Dedi Mulyadi is on track for a commanding win in the West Java gubernatorial election, with quick count results showing he has secured 61.16 per cent of the vote in Wednesday’s polls.

1. KING SIHAMONI VIETNAM VISIT TO RENEW TRADITIONAL TIES -- FRESH NEWS 

Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni will begin a two-day state visit to Vietnam today. During the visit, the King will meet with Vietnamese leaders to bolster their traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and stability. 

 

2. CAPITAL FREE OF OPEN DEFECATION -- FRESH NEWS

Phnom Penh achieved a milestone after being declared Open Defecation Free Plus status. The Ministry of Rural Development said living conditions have improved with better water and sanitation services. It contributes to better public health and hygiene and increases life expectancy.

 

MYANMAR

1. MYANMAR TEAMS UP WITH THAILAND IN TOURISM PROMOTION -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

Myanmar is promoting international tourism partnerships with Thailand to showcase the country’s diverse tourist attractions. A familiarisation trip will be held in December for about 30 Thai tourism agencies and the media who will tour key destinations.

 

2. PLUGGING LOOPHOLES IN THE SYSTEM TO GROW ECONOMY -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The government is tightening measures to improve its national exports by enhancing logistics with a container system via the Myanmar-Thai border shipping route, efficient unloading of containers, entry of export incomes on time, better fuel distribution and seizures of illegal fuel.

1. TAT TARGETS 9 MILLION CHINESE VISITORS IN 2025 -- The Nation Tourism and Sports Minister assures his Chinese interlocuteur during meeting in Shanghai that Thailand is a safe place for visitors.

 

2. REVIVAL PREDICTED FOR PRODUCTION IN 2025 -- Bangkok Post

Thailand's Manufacturing Production Index (MPI) is expected to grow by 1.5-2.5% next year, recovering from an estimated contraction of 1.6% in 2024 as a result of weak consumer purchasing power and a high level of household debt, says the Office of Industrial Economics (OIE).
