KOTA KINABALU, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- Only two members of the Sabah Legislative Assembly and three more state constituency representatives attended Phase 2.0 of the ‘Hardcore Poverty Data Refinement Engagement Session with Assemblymen’ here today.

In a statement, the Sabah Maju Jaya Secretariat, under the Chief Minister's Department, confirmed that Tungku and Bongawan assemblymen Assaffal P. Alian and Dr Daud Yusof, both from Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) attended the special engagement session for opposition asemblymen.

Representatives were also sent from the Sungai Manila, Sukau and Darau state constituencies.

“The session, led by Datuk Datu Rosmadi Sulai, Chief Coordination Officer of the Sabah Maju Jaya Secretariat, presented an introduction to the Sabah Hardcore Poverty Eradication programme,” the statement read.

Its aim is to gather input and suggestions from the assemblymen on expanding the list of Head of Household (KIR) and Household Members (AIR) missing from the e-Kasih System, so they can be added to the State Poverty Data System (PADANS).

This initiative follows an instruction from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor during the recent State Legislative Assembly sitting where he stressed that efforts to eradicate hardcore poverty should transcend issues of religion, race or political ideology.
