Deputy Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang said the projection would be subject to the performance of the local and global stock and bond markets.

“PMB Investment manages 19 Shariah-compliant unit trust funds with total assets under management of RM1.4 billion as of Oct 31, 2024.

"For the year 2023, the average return performance of 19 unit trust funds stood at 5.1 per cent, and the average return performance of these funds as of Oct 31, 2024, is 12.9 per cent," she said during a question-and-answer session at the Dewan Negara today.

She was replying to Senator Datuk Mustafa Musa's question about the value of synergy and the return-on-investment performance for PMB Investment in 2023 and 2024, as well as the guarantee of expected excellent performance in 2025.

Rubiah said the company has established synergy and collaboration with eight local banking and financial institutions by appointing them as institutional unit trust advisors to promote and distribute PMB Investment unit trust funds nationwide.

Among the appointed local banking and financial institutions are Affin Bank Bhd, iFAST Capital Sdn Bhd, KAF Investment Funds Bhd, Phillip Mutual Bhd, TA Investment Management Bhd, Bank Simpanan Nasional, UOB Kay Hian Securities (M) Sdn Bhd and Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd.

Meanwhile, she said PMB Investment aims to achieve revenue of RM70.56 million and profit after tax of RM15.5 million in 2025.

She said the company recorded income and profit after tax of RM37.20 million and RM4.81 million, respectively, in 2023.

In 2024, PMB Investment is anticipated to generate revenue of RM55.46 million while profit after tax is expected to increase to RM11.4 million, she said.

"PMB Investment has performed very well, providing opportunities for the bumiputera in terms of bumiputera equity ownership, especially in engaging and investing in the equity and bond markets locally and globally," she added.

Rubiah was responding to a supplementary question from Senator Tan Sri Mohamad Fatmi Che Salleh regarding PMB Investment's performance and whether it has improved.
